EYE & ENT Specialists Give Back
At Eye & ENT Specialist’s we understand the importance of having a positive impact on our community. Our team understands and promotes the idea of “giving back” through charity work and volunteering throughout the year.
Each March we team with the Barry County United Way, Vision Service Plan, and Westone for our annual charity event. With our combined efforts we are able to give the give of sight and hearing to Barry County residents who have low incomes, and either not insured or under insured. Residents who qualify receive vision exams, hearing tests, eyeglasses, and hearing aids at no cost. With our United Way Charity event day we also invite our recipients to visit our conference center to become informed of other programs available to them in Barry County. Our entire office transforms into a wealth of information, education and positive tools to improve quality of living in Barry County.
September brings another opportunity to “give back” by participating in the Live United Day of Caring. Members of our staff along with their family members once again arrived at the Barry County Fair Grounds with our work gloves and garden tools ready to once again tackle the 4-H children’s gardens. We not only enjoyed the satisfaction of good team work, but also enjoyed a wealth of information from the Michigan State Extension experts!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each Friday in October the staff proudly wore Breast Cancer Awareness T Shirts to show our support for this worthy cause. 50% of each T shirt purchase was donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. In addition to showing our support the staff at Eye & ENT Specialists hosted Dr. James Weatherhead for a staff Lunch and Learn to become better educated in detecting and understanding breast cancer. Think Pink!
The holidays once again bring opportunities to reach out to the less fortunate members of our community. Our patients become involved by donating food to our annual food drive. Local food banks greatly appreciate the wealth of generosity from our patients.
The staff at Eye & ENT Specialists will pull together to adopt families from Love Incorporated. We make sure that these gifts include warm clothes, educational toys, and of course many items from their “wish list”! Each family will also be gifted with a food basket including a fresh turkey for their holiday meal.
Pumpkin Fun Around The Office
Our office decided to scare up some fun this Halloween (2014) and have our annual pumpkin decorating contest. Pictured above is Olaf winning 1st place and our modern chevron pumpkin scene winning 2nd! Let us know what you think of our annual entries above by posting on our Facebook!
Getting Dirty and Fit at the Dirty Dozen Mud Run

At Pennock Health's Dirty Dozen Mud Run on September 15th, 2013, EYE & ENT Specialists was not only proud to be a Corporate Sponsor, but we were also excited to be getting fit and dirty ourselves! We are proud of our EYE & ENT team that came out to run this 1 Mile (and 5k) obstacle course in support of both the Pennock Foundation and the Barry County United Way.
We look forward to next year!
Dr. Nosanov provides Dominican boy with much needed surgical care

In response to a request from Healing the Children, local Otolaryngologist, Michael Nosanov, Pennock Services, and Hastings Anesthesiology collaborated to provide surgical care to a boy from the Dominican Republic.
Randy Rosario, an elementary-aged boy from the Dominican Republic, had suffered from repeated ear infections and hearing loss since a young age. In need of a tympanomastoidectomy, a surgical procedure to remove growths, diseased tissue and
rebuild the ear drum, his family was unable to secure the needed surgery and treatment at home so they turned to Healing the
Children.
Healing the Children is an agency committed to meeting the healthcare needs of children worldwide. They connect children and their families from around the world with physicians and hospitals who are able to help them. The group also sets up host families near the hospital and expedites visas for the children arriving for treatment.
Dr. Nosanov became involved with Healing the Children by pure happenstance. Traveling for a national meeting, he found himself seated next to Helen Salan, Executive Director of the Michigan-Ohio Chapter of Healing the Children. Just six months later Helen approached him with a child in need and that started his more than 10-year relationship with the organization.
Spreading the Luck of the Irish!

Our team spread some luck of the Irish to our local Hastings Community by joining in on the Saint Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Hasting!
